Sally Smith

“Vegetable inspirations”

Sally hopes to inspire people to grow and garden organically. Her career in horticulture spans over 20 years working as a lecturer then as a researcher on several BBC gardening programmes.

“Camilla Anderson

“The gardens of the Dukes of Devonshire and Northumberland, Chatsworth, Chiswick, Syon and Alnwick” 

Camilla is a garden historian, lecturer and photographer based in Derbyshire. 

 

 Friday 23rd February

 

Garden visit (arrive for 2.30pm)

Highfield House, Nr Alfreton

Owner Paul Peat will give a guided tour of their 2-acre wood filled with snowdrops.  Tour will be followed by a delicious afternoon tea. Cost £8 per person

Ryan Sandford-Blackburn

“Introducing permaculture as an ethical toolkit as told through my gardens” 

Ryan is director of Earthed Up, a not-for-profit worker’s cooperative in Belper. They grow and sell edible and useful plants and their seeds.

Don Whitton’s Garden and Allotment

Afternoon visit to Don’s euphorbia allotment and garden at Harthill.  Cost £7 per person including refreshments.

 

 

Friday 12th July 

Garden visit (arrive for 7.00pm)

Yew Tree Bungalow, Tansley

Jane will give a guided tour of her half an acre plantswoman’s garden.  Cost £9 per person including refreshments.

 

 

Sunday 18th August

 

Full day coach trip to

Breezy Knees Garden nr York

This is one of the largest gardens in the North of England at over 20 acres and with more than 7000 different varieties of flowers, shrubs and trees.

Kevin Pratt

“Don’t go to sleep during winter”

Kevin is the owner of Village Plants Nursery in Stockport. He is on the RHS Trials Committee and a RHS gold medallist.

Geoff Hodge

“The 12 month garden – colour all the year round”

Geoff is a writer, editor, author, TV and radio presenter.
